Skydiving in Yolo County in 1986, Ed was introduced to Okazaki Restorative Massage®  by a massage therapist at his drop-zone. He thought so highly of the experience that he studied and became certified in the Okazaki method in 1991.

“Massage provides an opportunity to take a break from the stresses of life and relax in the caring hands of a competent therapist. With just the right amount of pressure and skillful manipulation, patterns of tension are released in overworked muscles, fascia is loosened in areas of strain, and lymph is encouraged in its circulation."

Since then, he has completed residential programs in Hawaiian Lomilomi, Ortho-Bionomy®, and MyoSkeletal Alignment®, with additional workshops and seminars in Shiatsu, Sports Massage, Thai Massage and Bowen Therapy®.

"Bodywork and relaxation go together, but why? What is it about an hour-long bodywork session — even one focused on pain relief or structural alignment — that creates such a sense of well-being, calm, and energy?"

No longer a skydiver, Ed still practices massage and bodywork based on Master Okazaki's teaching, bringing his additional training into his work as appropriate for his client.

"Whether in giving or receiving, touch is as
essential to human survival as is food. Infants deprived of touch, even when they are getting adequate nutrition, will fail to thrive. Elders isolated by loss of partners and friends become depressed not only because of the absence of social interaction, but also because of the simple loss of being touched."

Ed is a
California State Certified Massage Therapist, certificate #23473, a member of the Hawaiian Lomilomi Association and the American Organization for Bodywork Therapies of Asia; he is licensed to practice in Elk Grove and Sacramento County.

"We calm our pets by stroking them, we greet each other with a hug or a handshake,        and we soothe our children by holding them. No other form of connection is as                  powerful and universal as touch."

Ed is ready to provide expert and caring massage therapy and bodywork to you and your family in the comfort of your home. He also offers chair massage services to individuals, groups and businesses.
