Did anyone else get an email from Ken Goore talking about his new business venture? I was on the Goore's store mailing list, but was surprised to get this:

"We are involved with a business so amazing that it is not only changing our lives, but that of our friends and family for generations to come. We want to share this information with our customers, vendors, and business associates who have supported us througout the past 20 years."

Then, he states hwo he will be "showcasing" the new business venture tomorrow at somewhere in Roseville. I'm intruiged, but I don't have the inclination or time to make it to a presentation tomorrow.

So, if anyone hears more about what they're doing, please let me know. I'm quite curious. Thanks.

That seems really odd. Why would anyone with a business as successful as Goore's go down that path?

They have such a solid reputation in the community and I really love their children's store.

Oh never mind, I just did a bit of research and learned that Goore's filed for bankruptcy late last year and announced their store would be closing. Not sure if it is closed yet or not, but it was the best store of it's kind in the local area. Too bad. Another victim of the bad economy I guess. We spent a lot of money there when our kids were babies 5 or 6 years ago and nobody compared to the selection and customer service at that time.
