LifePointe Church is great! Pastor Chris is a gifted pastor and the worship music is outstanding. The church just recently moved to a new building and is having a grand opening this Sun. Services are at 9 and 10:30. Address is 10291 East Stockton Blvd. It is definitely worth checking out.

I second LifePointe. It is a nondenominational church, Bible based. I have found the people there to be wonderfully friendly.

First Baptist Church is also a very nice church. It's a larger congregation. They have three services Sunday morning. Classic, Middle, Contemporary. The main difference is the type of music/songs that are performed. The Sermon is the same but the multiple times are helpful if you are running late one morning or if you are an early bird.

    Capital Christian Center
    www.ccconline.cc 9470 Micron Avenue Sacramento, CA 95827-2698 (916) 856-5600
Sunday Service Times: Classic Service 9Am think choir, orchestra, Casual Services think guitars, high energy, jeans : 10:30Am & 12Pm. I attend the casual 12:00pm as that's what I like and I like to sleep in on Sunday's so I go to the noon service, even that I live in the heartland city of Elk Grove, it's worth the drive to Capital Christian Center in Sacramento, fast way to get there to by pass traffic and time and still stay within the speed limit is if you take the backway from Elk Grove to Bradshaw Road and up to Micron Ave. Google it!

I also vote for LifePointe. They just moved into a new building and lots of fun things going on. Their youth group and children's ministry are outstanding. Friendly people, you feel like family.

Sorry to be late to the conversation, but I found and love the Elk Grove United Methodist Church here in Old Town (www.elkgroveumc.org ). It is a vibrant, welcoming smaller church with a wide range of activities that offers a progressive home and not strict doctrinarianism. Check it out to see for yourself. Services at 8:30 (traditional style) and 11 (contemporary style) on Sundays, free community breakfast on Saturdays, and free lunch on Sunday's, Bible Study, walking group, Godly Play, Sunday School, etc.

There are some amazing things happening at First Baptist right now. It is the friendliest large church I have ever been a privileged to be a part of. But there are a lot of great churches in Elk Grove. We are blessed!

Roger T., what do you mean by "a progressive home and not strict doctrinarianism" regarding EG UMC? I'm not Methodist so don't know their basics, kinda figure it's similar to most protestant churches? Thanks

Methodist churches tend to allow many things that are prohibited in most churches from experience in shooting weddings.

My husband and I go to First Baptist. It has been such a joy to see God move in the deepest parts of people's hearts. And He IS moving.....!

From the moment we walk in, it feels welcoming.
From the first sounds of the worship music, you can not help but WORSHIP!! There is talent beyond words, in the Pastors and the Worship team, and yet there is such humility. There are programs for you, no matter what or where you are in life.....and it helps to know that people care.

I love a message that will "convict" me...(teach me or awaken my spirit,) and there is an abundance of great teachings and inspiring messages!
PLEASE please give FBC a chance to inspire you!

We go to the 9:30 (if you want company) but there are two other times...800Am and 11:15.

    Blessings,
    Lisa

Bayside of South Sacramento (BOSS) is an awesome church.  They meet on Saturday nights at 6:00 p.m. and have 2 services on Sunday at the Cosumnes College Gym.  The music is fantastic as well.

I'm a huge fan of Northgate Church. Its a newer church with a smaller congregation (75+) and growing. They are super friendly and welcoming with solid Bible teaching. The pastor is awesome. They meet at Harriet Eddy Middle School on Soaring Oaks. Website www.northgateelkgrove.com

I also highly recommend Living Water Church.  I, too, have been going there for many years.  I really like Pastor Joel and all the people that I have met there.

We have been attending Northgate Church for about 8 months now and really love it there! It's small but growing! www.northgateelkgrove.com. Meets at Harriet Eddy Middle School. Sunday mornings at 10am. The first Sunday of every month is "Family First Sunday" The Church family provides breakfast in the winter and BBQ in the Summer. It's fun and helps us really get to know each other!

We LOVE First Baptist Church of EG. We attend the 11:15 service and the music is amazing. We feel so blessed to be a part of such a wonderul church. They offer so many fabulous programs for children as well.
