Can't really find any straight forward answer on this one online.  Is all or part of a zoo membership tax deductible?

The IRS has a helpline. I called them recently with a question and the representative was very helpful. I was expecting a bad experience, to be on hold for a long time, and to feel frustrated but I wasn't. I called around 6:45 p.m.

I've was able to claim 100% of my Academy of Science museum membership so there's a strong possibility the Zoo may be tax deductible as well. If I can find verification on this I'll post it.

Found this....* Membership is tax deductible less the fair market value of items received. The fair market value of benefits received is not substantial for the Member PLUS Pack level and below. Please call (916) 808-5888 if you have questions regarding the fair market value of benefits received at the Zoo

I deduct our RR Museum membership. Our tax person never told us we couldn't, so I hope she's right. ??
